Sanjyot Dunung Launches Campaign for IL-08

I’m running for Congress because the promise of the American Dream is under threat. As the candidate for change, I will deliver fresh, responsible ideas to tackle economic chaos and uncertainty.”
— Sanjyot Dunung
DES PLAINES, IL, UNITED STATES, May 13, 2025 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Sanjyot Dunung, a small business owner, innovative entrepreneur, and proud mother of three sons, including one in the military, has launched her campaign to represent Illinois's 8th District in Congress. In a time of real chaos and frustration with the status quo, Sanjyot is the change candidate stepping up to fight for the American Dream and put people over politics.

“After listening to folks in my community, I’m running for Congress because the promise of the American Dream is under threat. People are tired of career politicians who fail to deliver meaningful results. As the candidate for change, I will deliver fresh, responsible ideas to tackle economic chaos and uncertainty,” said Sanjyot. “Being an outsider, I won't be tied to special interests or political insiders that perpetuate the same old outcomes for our community. As a small business owner, I will use my experience to create new solutions for a brighter future for all Americans—one where life is more affordable, safer, and healthier.”

Sanjyot grew up in Des Plaines, Illinois, as the daughter of Indian immigrants, who instilled in her the values of hard work, community, service, and a deep pride in the promise of America. A graduate of Northwestern University, she became a successful EdTech entrepreneur and small business owner and made a career out of building things—companies, jobs, and a family. As a pragmatic workhorse, she has dedicated her life to collaborating with people from all backgrounds to solve tough problems.

Sanjyot continued, “This administration promised to fix the economy, but instead, it’s breaking promises and tearing down opportunities that make the American Dream possible. As the mother of three sons, I have experienced the challenges that too many families face today. I’m running to protect Social Security and Medicare for the next generation, honor our commitment to military families and veterans, ensure healthcare is affordable and accessible, fight for reproductive freedoms, invest in educational opportunities from universal Pre-K to vocational training, harness the American entrepreneurial spirit, and make homeownership and retirement achievable, not aspirational.”

In addition to navigating economic cycles and innovating as an award-winning entrepreneur, Sanjyot has spent her adult life proudly serving her country. She has worked tirelessly to empower small businesses and recommend commonsense regulations through her work on the Board of Directors for the National Small Business Association. She served on President Biden's Foreign Policy Working Group focused on international trade, helping to shape policy to boost small business exports and strengthen our economy.

Sanjyot is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Truman Center for National Policy and the American Leadership Project, where she is passionate about championing America’s economic well-being while driving impactful policy changes and supporting sensible global leadership. Sanjyot writes textbooks on international trade and global management, integrating practical learning for the next generation of workers and leaders.

About her campaign, Sanjyot said, “My life was Made in America. This campaign was Made in America. It could not have happened anywhere else. Now, I’m committed to making sure that the same American Dream is alive and well now, and for generations to come.”

Sanjyot’s commitment to innovation and independence from special interests makes her a reliable, authentic voice for meaningful change. Her dedication to the American Dream, record of service, and focus on tangible solutions position her as the leader Illinois 8 needs right now.

Główna bariera to brak wkładu własnego
