CABWHP concludes 30th anniversary celebrations by honoring the legacy of Black women past and present at the annual Women Who Dared awards

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, May 13, 2025 /EINPresswire.com/ -- California Black Women’s Health Project (CABWHP) is proud to announce that civic leader, strategist, and philanthropic advocate Nike Irvin will be honored at this year’s Women Who Dared brunch and awards ceremony on Sunday, May 18th, 2025, at the SLS Hotel Beverly Hills. This year’s theme, “Rooted in Care & Truth: Nurturing Black Women’s Wellness,” celebrates the visionary leadership and enduring impact of Black women like Nike, whose lifelong work exemplifies compassion and promotes generational change.

With over two decades of leadership in the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors, Nike Irvin has long been recognized for her ability to bridge equity-centered investments with meaningful grassroots movements. She currently serves as Managing Director of the Civil Society Fellowship which engages next-generation leaders to forge solutions to the biggest issues facing our society. She previously led the California Community Foundation’s (CCF) grantmaking overseeing grants to arts, education, juvenile justice and health. Her career has been devoted to community building, racial equity, and systems-level change, making her a powerful voice in shaping a more just and inclusive society.

A passionate advocate for the wellbeing of Black communities, Nike has consistently championed initiatives that prioritize health equity, leadership development, and sustainable impact. She is a former board member and trusted partner of CABWHP, contributing not only her expertise but also her deep belief in the organization's mission to uplift Black women and girls across California.
